OEM rear parking sensors, wiring diagrams/information available?

Featured Replies

Hello to everyone,

I bought Octavia II VRS (pre facelift) just a couple of months ago. I have been extremely pleased with the car. Only complaint I have is the lack of rear parking senors. Car has very comprehensive list of other accessories, but parking sensors are missing.

Therefore, I just bought a set of original parking senors system that should include everything for a complete installation. One thing that it, however, doesn't include are the installation instructions ;) Well, that's not a huge problem excluding the fact that I have no idea were to connect some wires.

Other connections are pretty clear, but there are three separate wires: brown, purple/black, red/green. In addition there are also two wires, orange/green and orange/brown, that are twisted together. Brown wire could be earth and those two twisted wires could be wires for CAN-BUS. One wire is also probably for getting power from the fuse box.

Someone happen to have anykind of wiring diagrams or any information how to make the connections? I would really appreciate it.

My car has OEM sensors fitted. The wires run through a grommit into the spare tyre well and along the edge of the boot under the trim to a control box sitting under to boot lining behind the passenger side wheel arch. From there I'm not too sure where they're connected, but you'll need the sensors and this control box before you have all the hardware anyway. Didn't notice wire colouring as they wires were wrapped in tape. I'll be replacing my parking sensors once the garage I bought the car off finds the part thanks to an intermittent fault in one of them.

The downside to the parking sensor installation however is that it's made very easy when the bumper is removed, but I'm not sure if it's even possible to get at the sensors without removing the bumper. Taking the bumper off requires stripping out the boot lining both sides, removing the rear light clusters and mud flaps and taking out a load of Torx screws along the bumper's edge, some are a pain to get at in the wheel arches, so removing the back wheels might be a plan too, but using a stubby ratchet in the wheel arch I was able to get at everything with the wheels on.

I know it's for front sensors but should give you some idea and starting point

Thanks for your replies :) I actually have all the needed stuff, including the control box etc. Luckily, I will also get those sensors installed at the local Skoda service, so I don't need to do any drilling myself. Some guy crashed the rear bumper of my car when it was parked in a parking lot :thumbdwn: I wasn't at the "crime scene" when it happened, but fortunately guy left his contact information. His insurance will pay me a brand new bumper. Parking sensors will be installed at the same time when the bumper is replaced. Rest of the installation I will do by myself, so that's why I will need those wiring diagrams.

Hi all!

We've been working with this project with McRS car. Installation is allmost complete. We'll be posting pics and try to make a how to guide when we're finished. It took some time to figure out Can Bus Convinience connections but that's all sorted out now. Elsawin proves to be quite useful :bonk: after figuring out how to read the wiring schematics.

If anyone else is interested in doing this parts can be purchased at www.skodateile.cz
