Low rev question

Featured Replies

Hi. My vrs is a 2007 with 18k on it. When I get below (slowing down) 1.5k revs I seem to get a werid shudder. I'm not sure if it's outlet the engine needing a lower gear or the sign of a more serious problem. Any thoughts?

Ben

try a lower gear and report back

It shouldn't shudder in any gear. Although to rule out the gearbox, or a gear, as mentioned, try that first.

If it still happens, it could be a variety of things, so best bet is to get it plugged into a computer at your local vag specialist.

Is this infamous stutter that the newer Fabias suffer from? If it is it has been mentioned many times before and the solution is a new EGR gasket. I'm sorry I can't really help because I have the older ASZ engines that I think does not suffer from it.

If not, as mentioned above, plug it into a computer and see if there is any fault codes showing.

You only really get the stutter on part throttle. If you're off the throttle completely and slowing down then I don't think the stutter would be the cause.

Combination of labouring the engine and DMF shudder, happens on some more than others, mine seems to do it and got a bit worse after cupra bushes, or rather, it felt worse in the cabin after the bushes, my other one didn't do it and the old mans one doesn't

Select a lower gear before accelerating, simples!
