liquid gauge for octy 1????

Featured Replies

not sure where to put this so hope here is ok?

been lookin at boost gauges for a while to fit in the air vent of my mk1 and now fancy one of the liquid lcd computerised gauges that works via the obd port

question is does anyone have one fitted and if so what do u think of it?is it easy to install?

also do any of the sponsers on here do the gauge for a discount to members???

cheers all

buy it straight from race diagnostics  i was the first to put it in the octy and had it mounted in the drivers vent.. alot of people are putting it in the ashtray but how you look at it is beyond me when driving lol :D;)

be prepared to use alot of fuel when you first buy one as the dyno is addictive lol

It's a handy tool. I have mine fitted in the ashtray (see one of the linked threads above)

I have it set to show oil temperature so I don't try and thrash the car until it's up to temp. Then I switch it over to boost gauge.

The most handy thing for me though is the feature to scan for and clear fault codes, and reset the throttle body.

I got mine from Awesome, I think it was something like £175-180

How easy is it to install?

I think I will opt for the drivers airvent option. Is it easy to remove the existing vent and feed the cable through?

Also is it really as easy as plug & play?

Thanks

Sarah, I will conatct you with a view to buying one of these.

Removing the airvent can be a bit tricky, you'll need a flat bladed screwdriver and a bit of patience.

All you have to do to connect it is plug the cable into the back of the gauge and plug the other end into the OBDII port. Every time you disconnect and reconnect it to the OBDII port you have to enter a pass code which you get with the gauge (stops anyone nicking it).
