head unit?

Featured Replies

does anyone know if a double din head unit like below would fit my octavia vrs?

eBay.ie: PIONEER AVH-P3100DVD DOUBLE DIN 5.8" DVD/IPOD/USB/AUX (item 170345653789 end time 16-Aug-09 11:40:17 BST)

thanks

If it helps I fitted a JVC double din unit to mine with a Golf mkV facia surround, arial adapter and a ISO loom.

If you are interested I have the adapter, ariel connecter and wire loom for sale. You will need a silver facia surround from Skoda (can get part number). This is to hard wire it in. Alternative is a Can Bus adapter which links in with the cars electrics but cost about £50.

You can get a facia to replace the stream CD and keep the original silver surround but too much plastic about IMO.

Too much plastic, do you mean this one ?

We inserted that 2-din jvc to ocu II with that, and the original silver lining, and it fits, but it`s not perfect. There wasnt`t a suitable part available yet for that new octavia where the radio hole would be smaller and we could have used this part (the same that we used with the new superb) :

I originally fitted a kenwood dnx 7220 , and although it was a great bit of kit, it just didn't 'look right' in my octy..ended up selling it on flea bay, and bought the columbus rns 510..no regrets

I like the look of that

I also like the fact you can customise the colour of the background/buttons

Would you be able to use the standard 6 disk changer in the boot as well?

Although it probably would be worth getting the iPod lead and just using that

Very nice though

Another one to add on to the possible upgrade list

Cheers
