can anyone out there help with this one?

1)

a couple of days ago i had the power steering icon appear on my display, and when i got off of the M1 i noticed my steering was heavier?

thought maybe the power steering fluid needed topping up, but cant find the fluid resevoir anywhere??

my car is 1.4 8v Fab

2)

also, when ever i turn the ignition i get

service INSP

on the display where the milage is?

any ideas with the two problems above??

I think it does - mine came up with that and OIL when I got it back from being straightened. If it hasn't been serviced get it serviced or just get your dealer to get rid of it.

Have you had the battery disconected?

iv done an oil change about 5 months ago, no battery disconnection though

The power steering reservoir for your Fabia model is under the battery.

thanks mate, silly place to put it, no wonder i couldnt se it, is it hard to get the battery out without disconnecting it?

On the 1.4 8v you should be able to see the top of the PAS reservior (look for a little green cap). It has a dipstick on it to check the level,

Id get the fault codes read though, I supect with the recent rain you may need a steering angle sensor which are quite common.
