Free scanning software

Featured Replies

I know this is a long shot but I need software which can scan in my images for me. I have a HP all in one printer and the installation disk isn't supported by Vista. I can print but that's about it. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Martyn

Can you not use 'paint'?

Hi

Yes, I've your problem with my HP All-One ie it won't scan from the controls on the printer with Vista.

As stated above, Paint (all proprammes menu then Paint) is the answer. Save as a jpeg to desktop and then open for editing purposes with, say, Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

Any probs come back and I'll have another think.

Hope that helps :)

God I feel thick. Completely forgot about this thanks!

Hello.

Vista has a lot to answer to, but try makers download site for drivers etc, for your particular machine.

Failing that go back to Windows XP, I still use it, seems any machine I put on it will run no-problem. Apple iMac not too bad, still wary with it after two years, always find my way back to Windows XP.

I feel sad as my daughter loves Vista, it's all down to me being born too soon last century. LOL

She uses an old Epson RX425, (as I do too) works a treat, get them cheap on E.Bay, or RX420 & RX520 with just a few additions added on, with ink compatibles dirt cheap to boot,( and interchangeable with the ink.)

Good-luck. Ian. :rofl::D:thumbup:
