Aftermarket Stereo

Recommended Posts

I've tried searching but couldn't find anything, I'm just about to replace the symphony stereo in my Octavia with my Alpine CDE-103BT headunit. I have the correct ISO adaptor and I just bought some Kenwood removal keys for 3 quid which seem to work. Do people buy aftermarket aerial adaptors? Because the Alpine headunit has one anyway. I've heard something about getting an adaptor which acts as a signal amplifier on the Octavia.

Also, my headunit is a handsfree car kit with a microphone. On my Focus I mounted the microphone on the drivers side A pillar. However the trim on the Octavia looks a bit trickier to remove. Anybody got advice or do I bite the bullet and start taking things apart?

Cheers

Cheers, got it installed now.

When I'm off work I'll have to post some pictures of where I've located the microphone for the head unit hands free kit, its in the speedo cluster at the bottom much easier than running wires right through the dash to the A pillar.

Did anyone manage to get an interface to allow you to use the Alpine CDE-103BT with the Steering Wheel controls?

I have a 1.9 Tdi Superb and am looking to transfer my Apline over to the new car.

Cheers!

Dan
