FL VRS Leather, yes or no

Featured Replies

I'm seriously considering chopping in my vrs hatch for a facelift vrs estate. Has anyone seen the vrs leather seats in the flesh? Anyone know if there are any good images of them?

My main concern is they will be hot/sticky in summer. The normal vrs seats are pretty good (with the possible exception of the white bits) so I'm a little hesitant in case there a 'mare.

I've never had leather seats, anyone with experience of them give there thoughts +'s and -'s?

I must admit I had the same reservations, but funnily enought, during that week of summer we had a few weeks back, the seats felt only slightly sticky for about a minute. After that they actually felt nice and cool. Don't know it that helps.

Personally, I wouldn't bother. If you remember the old plastic seat days....

Only just remember the plastic seat days (as a kid), painful and rank smell from the heat. Surely leathers' not that bad. From people I've asked it seems quite split, +'s looks, resale, easier to clean, more comfortable(?), -'s cold in winter (get seat heaters), burns/sticky/sweaty in summer.

Any images as I can't find any good ones? Any other thoughts?

I have seen them in the flesh and though they were good quality I didn't like them much. They were better than the standard leather upgrade but I thought they were a bit "muscular".

There are other posts on here about them.

I certainly wouldn't chop in a standard vRS for the LE and throw all that money stright down the pan :thumbdwn:

I've seen the SE leather seats and don't really like them. IMO they felt cheap compared to the seats in the Superb that was parked next to it in the showroom. I'm more interested in what the leather is like the the FL VRS.

I gotta agree with you there.. I had my reservations about them in the hot weather too but like you say they feel warm and slightly sticky for a minute or so and then after that they feel nice, cool and comfortable.
