Just booked Custom-Code

Featured Replies

My vrs running a green storm induction kit, EGR delete, full milltek de-cat, and Millers 4-sport will be getting treated to a custom code phase 1 map in a couple of weeks!

I'm excited!!

sounds good, do you know what sort of figures your getting at the moment?

Not since the mods, I'm not sure if I'll have the time for a rolling road run in between either. I'd hazard a guess at around 140ish?

Hoping to see 170bhp and about 270lb-ft of torque after mapping though.

That sounds like a realistic figure. You could probably run more torque, but that sort of level is kinder to a standard clutch. Will certainly make a good difference and make the car more driveable, with a smoother power delivery.

It's the smoother power delivery I'm most looking forward to! Not such a fan of the huge surge followed by nothing.

I ran 170bhp and 280lb.ft with a C-C P1 many a year ago mate. Also ran 14.7 down @ Santa Pod with that remap, so its a nice map IMHO.

Glad to hear it. Does it pull much closer to the red line with the map? I have no idea what to expect, people just say do it!

Id say so yes, it has been well over a year since I took the map off, so cant remember exactly, however from memory the 'loss' of power you feel at 4,000rpm is replaced as it keeps going in the lower gears. I remember thinking 2nd now got that feeling at say 4,600rpm, 3rd @ 4,400rpm, 4th, 4,200 and 5th well that stayed at 4k!

It goes up again the more you tune im afriad, I now generally take it to 5k upto 3rd gear, then 4,600rpm in 4th, then 4,400rpmish in 5th. It does get abit scary when you see the needle at 5,000rpm in 6th however....

Thanks for that :)

Does it take a few days to come in to its own like people say or are the full effects very much noticeable from the moment you get in?

I noticed it from the 1st 'blip' of the throttle driving off from C-C HQ myself. You will notice a rather huge difference to start with, but it does seem to adapt a tad more over a few miles, which for me was just that evening :D

The change is straight away, for alot of people the reason it seems to get faster is for a few reasons IMHO

1. They get used to how to drive it with its new power, and inturn it does go quicker!

2. They drive on roads they are used to driving, so can 'see/feel' just how much faster they are going.

Obv. on number two, thats due to alot of people driving out of their way on unfamilier roads, once they get back and do say the run to work for example they next day, they realise just how much faster it is!
