What condition is the car in?

I've not used the Megs products but they are designed to try to remove swirls etc. It will be hard work doing it by hand but hopefully worthwhile if they are bad.

The Autoglym SRP is good at masking swirls - but not getting rid of them, so on that basis I'd give the Megs products a go.

Finally, I would seriously recommend a clay bar session before using either polish

cheers for that m8

its a silver 54 plate vrs and its pretty good condition-no swirls i think without really looking hard at it

ive just used the meguiars speed detailing stuff after ive dried it

Megs step 1 and 2 and then some proper wax on top. Maybe clay maybe not depending on whether it needs it

That megs step 1, 2, and 3 is really hard work ....I used it once and still have a lot left in the bottles......it's bad to apply and even worse to polish off...have a word with Baker21 and he will advise you whats good

i would recommend AG, but the thing is its a big can of worms being opened as there are people who will swear by AG (like me who are impressed with it) and the same for mequirs its basically down to personall preference. Have a look through the cars that have been cleaned and pictures posted up on this section and see what you think of the finished job, then see what they have used.

I think that either product set will yield good results depending on how hard you want to work and what your looking to achieve, the Megs products will allow you to remove some small swirls but this is very hadn by hand, whereas you will have more visible results with the AG products which will mask and fill in the swirls.............;)

On silver it's very difficult to see such defects but as with any process the amount of effort you put into preparation will yield better results..........

Yes, although frankly I would put a separate layer of wax on top.

Yep SRP followed by EGP works just fine...if you want to extend the durability/protection just add another 1 or 2 layers of the EGP:thumbup:
