manifold inlet motor intermittent fault v157

Hi everyone, had this fault diagnosis given by a vag specialist garage who said car can still be driven as it is only stopping a rough close down on the engine.Has anyone experienced a similar fault and changed the motor or had another solution option.Sorry not been on for a while superb v6 tdi 2005 comfort
