Classic estate - Rear speakers not working

Featured Replies

Octavia classic 1.9tdi estate (56 plate) -

The rear door speakers don't work at either side, presumably they should. Can anyone tell me where and how to access the wiring to check they are plugged in to the radio/loom correctly?

Cheers!

There isnt any in there, the clasic only has front speakers

Thanks Tom - Why am I not surprised!

Does the standard radio support them?

Can they be added easily enough?

Ditto an MP3 input?

Is it a Stream radio?

If you can find fade controls in the radio setup it probably supports 4 speakers. Very few car radios don't these days anyway.

If it's an non MP3 stream it may only work for an aux in if you fool it into thinking it has a CD changer connected and feed the MP3 player sound to the pins it's expecting sound for from the CD changer. I have a non MP3 Stream with a CD changer and I wired in a switch to allow inputs to be swapped from the changer to the MP3 plug.

I have a classic too with Stream MP3 and can say that it does not have speakers at rear and also no wires prefabricated. We installed my hands free phone kit yesterday and during that we noticed that there are no RR+, RL+, RR- and RL- wires connected to the quadlock plug.

The Stream itself DOES support 4 speakers, it has fader controls.

I myself dont really need them anyway, the front systems are ok as they are...
