Not many super interesting pictures as you're not allowed photography on the circuit. Although one interest fact, at the same time we were going around some guys from software developer F10 were there with an Audi R8 hooked up to loads of sensors and stuff developing Forza Motorsport 3

eurotunnel.jpg

I had never used the eurotunnel before having never driven on the continent, the mrs is a little claustraphobic but it suprisingly quick.

One of the many MANY service areas we stopped at off the Autobahns. The entire country is suprisingly well kept, but being overtaken by a Porsche whilst I was doing 130mph was humbling (YES 130mph legally people!)

They've erected an enormous monolith of a building for the Formula 1 circuit. It's still not complete, but there's a Ferrari, and an Aston Martin shop, as well as showrooms from Nissan and several tuning companies. (And yes that's a rollercoaster rail running along the ceiling)

... which leads to that!! It wasn't functioning yet much to our disappointment.

wilhelmshohe.jpg

We stayed here @ the Wilhelmshohe hotel on the B257, around 22km from the Ring. It's a good stay and the lady who runs it is English!! Nicest person ever too.

Few laps in and I started to smell rubber! Pulled over 2 let everything cool off. I was humbled by some of the motors there!! Especially a little 106 Rallye Phase I that was really flying!!

The actual entrance to the ring is actually quite tricky to find, you head down this annoymous backroad through the village of Nurgburg and then there it is.

Best trip ever.

So why didn't you get your foot down

I only had 5-10mph left to give!!

I'm off to FORD FAIR tomorrow @ Silverstone. I've got myself booked in for three runs @ the 0-60. I'm hoping to be the fastest Skoda @ Europe's biggest Ford Exhibition tomorrow! Will upload pics & videos to this thread tomorow.

Was the 130 gps or indicated, if indicated you would have a good 15+ mph on tap ;)

Nice one. I was actually there and saw your first run. Was pretty amusing because the TDI engine was pretty silent so it didnt seem quick but then the 7.43 popped up so yeah I imagine you did surprise a few people.

Saw the car in the car park afterwards and noticed the Briskoda sticker above the headlamp so was curious to find out who it was.

yeah the announcer guy said to me the car runs whisper quiet. Loud petrols sound nice, no-one would have the same appreciation for a loud diesel!!

And for anyone tempted to go, a space is free for the Brisky ring trip 18th to 21st Sept. ;)
