My first Quarter mile day :O

Featured Replies

Well since swapping the Fabia vRS for the Corolla T Sport thought i'd better see what it could do... or should i say couldnt....

best i got was a 15.5 at 91mph....

did get a 97mph but the start was shocking

need more practice... can run with things when it gets going but getting there

My mate in his Hybrid Fabia got a 14.4 but i was reeling him in near the quarter... need to sort the starts out...

Heres me vs my other buddy in his B16 Civic... in the real world running there isnt much difference the corolla just pips it but me being a cack driver heres the result :rotz:

What track was this on? What sorta terminal speeds did the hybrid get mate? 97mph is fast for a terminal speed!!

Its an old airway.... so not the flattest...

Hybrid was getting constant 93/94 mph

Did you miss second?

How much bhp has the hybrid got? Reason I ask is IIRC terminal speed is made by bhp per ton (give or take) so no matter how bad a start you should ALWAYS get similar terminal speeds? Whilst the hybrid terminal speeds seem low to me? I was running 98/99mph terminals

Not that time but its hard to get it into 'lift' which is like vtec....

lift kicks in at 6.2k revs and bumps the bhp from 140 to 189 bhp... so you have to whack it from first to second ride the clutch and give it some revs for you to land in 'lift' in 2nd... obviously i didn't do it quite right there... it takes a bit of perfecting

Just had a look at the results... he got 1 97mph and 4 94mph

And it was the old star performance car so it was runnin 215bhp and 310lft torque

Does the torque dive when this kicks in? I've not much knowledge of that engine lol, sounds quiet painful for the clutch?

I don't really know buddy... it has some sort of race cam in it so at 6.2k it changes over just like v-tec then goes to 8.2k... if you change normally in first at 8.2k it bogs down in second at like 5.5k so your not in the race cam... then you only have 140bhp until 6.2k comes in... but if you ride the clutch and give it some revs (which i obviously never did) it pops into second at around 6.5k and you have all 189 horses... its quite hard to do...

Managed 10 runs on saturday clutch is on 70k and it never missed a beat or even made a smell... car has low torque anyhow so should be all good i think :D

Cool, glad you have some fun! Im sure with abit more practise you can take more time off! Thats the best bit about getting times, always can do abit more to take alittle off it :D
