Sound system

Featured Replies

My Octavia is fitted with the 12 speaker sound system but the front ones which are hidden under the mesh where there is sound system embossed on the mesh ( I am assuming they are the bass ones ) are making a pathetic distorted noise, now this is with the stereo at a low volume of around 10 in the bass set at five or six, when I push the mesh slightly the noise stops and the bass sound is perfect,What is the problem, something vibrating in the door card, the speaker or something loose in the door mechanisms ?,wiring harness, winder bolts,etc,etc...Has anyone ever had this problem,it's driving me nuts :(,my car has a sound system and I can't use it proberly,I am not the type of bum bum sound full on person but I love to hear music as if I was in a concert hall which is what my ICE system in the car is supposed to sound like .....

does sound like a vibration. your fingers are effectivly the damper when you push the mesh. i'd suggest getting some accoustic foam (similar to a camping mat) and removing the door card and putting the foam in where you think two parts may vibrate against each other. dont cover the speakers though.

Hi beedie,

thanks for your tips will try, regarding your Octy is that an RS ?,never seen one in that colour.is that Anthracite ?,my Ambiente is Stone grey a slightly lighter colour than yours I think, was thinking of fitting front and rear Vrs bumpers and the rear spoiler and the side mouldings when I firts got the car but thought it would look dull in that colour but looking at the pics of your car i'd say it looks gorgeous,Are those wheels genuine Skoda's as well, never seen anything like them before .....

Its one of 500 made to sign off the pre-facelift VRS in Britian.
