Sticking on the Milotec rear Diffuser

Featured Replies

I've recently had my Milotec rear diffuser delivered and I was wondering of the best way to stick it on.

It comes with some sort of bond but I've rear that once that's on it won't come off!

I may end up needing some paintwork done eventually on my rear bumper so I didn't want to use the supplied stuff.

I was wondering, do you think silicone sealant would be up to the job or does anyone have any tips?

Thanks

Originally when I got mine I stuck It on with strong double sided sticky tape just In case I didn't like It & that lasted quite a while.

I have now bonded It on with tiger glue after I lost a section of my wheel arch extension:D

Whatever you do use, especially the double sided sticky tape, make sure that all dirt, polish & wax Is off the paint so It has an excellent surface to bond too & give the back of the diffusor a scrub to renove any oil residue from the plasic:thumbup:

silicon will be fine. that is what i used. that way with a little bit of fishing line it can be removed and then paint round the little remains of the silicon.

I would use "Tiger Seal" this is a automotive adhesive avaliable from any good motor factors £6 a tube.

Works from a mastic gun, check the fit before applying and only use the minimum possible. This stuff sticks like s*it to a blanket ;-) and is used as a structural adhesive.

Once the tube is open you have 20 mins apply time and in this weather it is totally dry in 3 hours.

I have used this on all types of body and trim with a 100% sucess rate.

As you can see I rate this stuff.

No no and no again

Actually you can remove tiger seal , but it will take you ages. Using a multitude of stuff , like stanley knife , WD40 , tar remover etc. Took me 4 hours.

As the tiger seal is very adhesive you could just run a small bead around the inside lip of the diffuser, just enough to hold it in place.
