Anyone know what is causing poor sound?

Featured Replies

right heres a funny one for yous cd changer in boot wasnt working so purchased a second hand one of ebay.cd changer came today when fitted it to car. Radio sound was crystal clear but from cd it was awfull a bit like when you turn radio up to loud and it sounds all distorted.whilst fiddleing about with this i noticed a wire loose on original one that has never worked since i bought it now both cd changers are reading and playing disks but with an awful sound compared to the radio any ideas why cheers

Check that the pins and sockets are clean at both ends of the cable between the changer and the stereo?

Otherwise, have you tried more than one CD? Could be the disc that's duff...

yeah mate tried about four cds still poor sound

I had exatly that when I fitted a Symphony player and CD changer out of an Octavia into our Fabia. I tried the changer in a mates car with his headunit and it worked fine and then tried my headunit with his changer and it was bad so came to the comclusion it was the head unit inputs that had gone pop. I had it apart but could find anything like dry joints or a bad ground connection so just gave it up as a bad job and sourced another from ebay for about £10. I still have it though so if you do find a cure let me know.
