Got the seat inserts and footrest from a lad called Gulf on golfgti.co.uk last week.

I actually bought these last year for my previous '05 golf gti and never fitted them! I sent him a pm when I got the vRS to see would it be possible to exchange them for vRS ones. 'No problem' he said so I sent back my gti items and the new one's arrived last week...

I spent a bit of time putting them in as the colours I wanted them were fiddly to get right but was worth it in the end, I also countersunk the bolts holding the footrest and it looks far better than using the washers supplied!! lol

Al (Gulf) is a top bloke. We were camped next to him at Inters and he gave me some of these as thanks for some VCDS tweaks.

I fitted them without coloured backing but took them out again as I thought I'd try it with coloured backing after all. I couldn't decide what to use for the coloured backing, then I again decided not to bother with the coloured backing. Now I need to find some more suitable thin sticky pads for securing them. Maybe I'll just super glue them this time.

These look great what did you use for the red and green colour behind the inserts.

You can get the footrest and inserts on eBay. Just do a search for user name "volksbits". Had a look on the golfgti.co.uk site and looks like in the groupbuy that Gulf ran they were going for about £22.50 - don't know about the handle inserts.

Interested to know how you did the cutouts - looks very effective.

Just in case anyone was wondering what they'd look like with a Race Blue backing. I thought it looked a bit cheap / OTT so I ditched it.
