trojan ?

Featured Replies

did an AVG scan earlier this evening, highlight of the scan was

Trojan horse download. generic 8 BHDV

used the AVG to remove it , will this be ok or should i use something different to do a better job ?

I think AVG isnt that good to be honest- try Kaspersky Internet security this stops most things and does not hog all your system resourses

couldn't get that Kaspersky to download

Not absolutely certain, but I've a feeling you can't install Kaspersky if you have AVG installed.

I seem to remember that I had to remove AVG before the full installation would work.

Update: Yep, AVG can prevent Kaspersky from installing.

Here's how to remove it

Troubleshooting

hth

Run panda or trend security online scanners to be certain. After an infection, especially trojans, the on machine security cant/shouldnt be trusted until verified it's clean by a 3rd party source.

Experience says AVG isnt the best antivirus, and misses loads of infections until you've become infected. Pretty fracking useless after the event too.
