My Window fell down!!

Featured Replies

AHGGGG My passenger window just fell with a crash into the door panel...Guessing it came off the runner or something? i managed to slide it back up for the night but what a pain on the ****...EXPENCIVE JOB???

Hopefully my warranty is still vaild i know it will be close.

loads'a a info on this on the forum.. it's a very common failure on all cars these days.. the window regulator has failed.

Part is £70ish. Requires a door strip I'm afraid. Not the easiest of DIY jobs, especially if the cars 04 or younger as they riveted the doors togther rather than bolted them.

Just noticed your car is 03.... you stand a good chance of having a door that's bolted together, that makes a DIY a possibility if your good at this kinda thing?

No im terrible. Im going to ring the dealer in the morning see what he says my ownly hope lol thanks mate

This has just happened to me as i drove the car home from buying it. Mines a 2000 reg so after removing the door card etc i found four riverts in there grrrrrrrrrr....after 3 mins on each with a blunt drill piece i eventually got it off and discovered it was the cables that were the problem. As they are seprate from the electric window motor its not going to cost too much too fix but its still a pain in the a*se. Im going to skoda tomorrow to get the part (expecting to pay about £80) and going to fit it myself as its a good 1 hour job and dont fancy paying a garage to do a job i can do.

If you have the time mate...do it...it will save you £££ !

regards George
