auxiliary connector on vrs radio?

Featured Replies

is their an auxiliary connector at the back of the octi vrs stereo for connecting external devices? i want to connect an ipod to it but without the cassette adapter or similar method... also how do you take the stereo out if there turns out to be a connector? many thanks

i've just removed mine and dont remember seeing any aux inputs on the back. to remove the unit get some removal tools (i think the kenwood ones work) or use something long and thin to poke down the 2 slots on the front, the until should then pull forwards. I don't think it has aux functionality as there is nowhere to select it on the front

There is a aux lead that uses the blue part of the multi connector instead of the cd changer....

*but*...

The head unit will not allow an "aux" or even stay switched to "CD" when this is attached, I have seen a few hobbyist "how to make a PCB that simulates the changer" sites around the web but nothing concrete \ for sale made up.

my car has a grundig using the same blue kammer connector as the skoda grundigs. I had a lead for that which went to my mp3 player. There is a pinout which you have to do then you have to reboot the radio (remove power and reinsert) and it should then say AUX on the cd part or even CD.

i dont want to loose the autochanger though. the ipod would not be a replacement just a removable add on...

have you thought about a transpod , I used it in my old clio and it used to get alot of background noise from the alternator but sounds very good in the vRS. It even charges the ipod.

I do not suppose you have the pin-out/circuit for this connector I assume it is just a hard wired connector not an I have the radio with AUX in but no changer, I would like to be able to hook up my MP3 player, but do not want to spend money on an adapter box.
