I got the filter from my Local VW.

Funnily enough they had two different types of filter (both the same size). One had straight lines, the other had wiggly lines.

I opted to take the one with the wiggly lines - not sure if there's any difference. The one that was in the car had straight lines.

God damn *** ache, the oil filter cap tool cost £10 from Halfords, but hey ho I had no choice as I'd already drained the oil from the engine!
