Fabia vrs Servicing and Timing Belt in Edinburgh

Featured Replies

Hello,

My Fabia Vrs has just ticked over 40k and i believe its now time for a full service and timing belt change (please correct me if im wrong).

Does anyone know a good cheap garage in Edinburgh who will do both the full service and timing belt change for a reasonable price? Also how much is this likely to be?

Cheers

Callum

Well I'd avoid Chathams as they will be expensive, I'd try a VAG independent such as Autohaus or Star Performance.

Welcome along Callum,

Full service yes!

Cam belt intervals are 60,000mls or 4 years which ever is soonest!

There's also McKinnon & Costello @ Meadowbank

i take mine to star performance its roughley £50-£70 cheaper per service or repaire compared to the 2 dealers in edinbergh. i've had my cam belt and bush's also front disc's and pads done there.

I almost feel like crying. I have been quoted £860 for timing belt/water pump, from my local VW garage in Sweden. There is nowhere else around here to do the job, so I have to go with it :(

I was just considering selling the car as well.

Car has done 167,000km (about 104,000 miles) and it is the first time it has been done as far as I know.

I'd be crying with a bill that big! Get a workshop manual and DIY if your capable, its a very easy job at the end of the day.

Give these guys a call Advanced autos they are in saughton mains street EH11 3NR 0131 443-7100 . I used to work with these guys at audi they were both master technicians at audi so they really know there stuff:thumbup:.

Ive just paid £200 for timing belt change. Lancashire prices ;)
