love mine to bits , its also on 18s , i run mine on vpower as its mapped.

17s will give you a better ride quality , tyres are a personal thing but lots on here about that if you search.

you have a lot of very active and knowledgable guys near you as well.

All engines prefer different fuels. You're best t see which yours likes rather than force it.

Mileage on tyres depends on how you drive. I've just got 30k from fronts, and rears are still going.

Thats outstanding. I just had to replace my to fronts (Continental Sports Contact 2) at 15k. I dont think I have a heavy driving style :rotz:. Can I ask what tyres your running on?

Thanks in advance

lol I'm ashamed to say I am on my third set of fronts at 26k miles..the f1 asymmetrics I have on now seem to be wearing a lot better mind

For a budget fuel, go for Tesco`s super. at 99 as opposed to to BP which is 97 its pretty decent and should give your reasonable performance per pound.

From the factory had 17" Michelin Pilot Primacy's. Just had Pilot sport 2's fitted to the front. Rears, according to the check sheet, are on 4mm all over.

Works car, fully laden and spirited driving has the Primacy HP's, and on 24k. There're all close to 3mm so will need replacing very soon. Considering how they're abused, they've done really well. Just hope the boss allows the same again.

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

My first bought car has GY eagle NCT2's, and I got 8K. Being £150 a corner taught me to improve my clutch control and not to take each corner on the limit

Oh, and check you use the right pressures and check regularly.

The 2.0TFSi requires 98RON fuel otherwise it will run at reduced power. That limits you to V-Power or Tesco 99.

I love my vRS :)

Can you tell me where that information is in the current Octavia brochure (July 2009) please, because I can't find it anywhere!

All it states is Lead-free petrol with RON 95 or Lead-free petrol with RON 91†

† Lower efficiency when using lower RON petrol.

I think the 1.8 TSI units are less fussy than the 2.0 TFSI lump.

I've never looked in a brochure so I wouldn't know. It does say on the inside of the filler cap though.
