Best products for a black car.?

Featured Replies

I have just bought a black car ( god knows why....:rotz:)

As I like to keep my cars up to snuff, but not having had a black one for years ( apart from the Octavia, but I barely had it long enough to wash it, let alone wax it ) can anyone recommend any ( not too expensive ) waxes that will show it off well.

It will all be done by hand, as I have been forbidden by the war office to modify it, buy any more toys I don't need ( i.e a porter cable ), or waste money on wheels that I give away.....

Oh, and it's big, so the stuff must be easy to wax on, wax off............

fk1000 is pretty good on black and at 18 pounds good value, this is a sealant and not a wax so its got good durability aswell

Never hears of it tbh, who makes it, and where can I buy/try it ?

If you've got some swirls the AG combo of Super Resin followed by Extra Gloss Protection is a good one...cheap & available from halfrauds.

Alternatively a paint cleanser followed by some Collinite 476S will offer a good & very durable finish.

I've got loads of lots of stuff ( about a gallon of srp and 3 bottles of egp ) plus some more of everything, and I've always been a fan of Autoglym stuff ( it certainly helped sell the Mazda ) but it never seems to be very durable, and having just bought an estate, I don't want to be doing it every other week as it seems massive compared to the Mazda/Fabia.

Having said that, I have only got two to keep clean now,as opposed to four, so I suppose it's swings and roundabouts.

sounds like you have all you need:thumbup:...just top-up with the EGP every 4-6 weeks & job's a good'un. You should notice increased durability after a couple of layers of the EGP onwards.
