right i have a mk1 vrs octy and poss lookin to fit some different wheels but before i buy i want to know for sure they will fit without fear of rubbing/catching sticking out too much or fowling the drive in any way(on full lock etc etc?)

They are audi fitment 5 by 112 so firstly i will need longer bolts and prob lookin at 20mm 5 by 100 adaptors!The et is 56 or poss 52 i think and they are from the TT wearing 215/45 18" rubber!

On top of this i am also lookin to lower the car further on wietecs a further 10mm at front over standard vrs suspension and 20mm out back!

so is it poss?

any thoughts or expert knowledge welcomed

Just get wheels that fit directly mate instead of messing about with spacers etc, What wheels are they anyway?

Anything VAG, 17 inch that are a 5x112 fitment, that would suit a black hearse will do for a start.

You wouldnt need longer bolts if you get decent adapters as they bolt to the hub and then the wheel will bolt to them with the standard bolts. Whould work fine with that offset, I say go for it, at least it will look different from everyone else wearing RS6 reps

these wheels dont come in 5x100!

i think its difficult to find a wheel to suit the octy1 so thats why you have to look at other options IMO and i like oem plus look

On a related theme, I saw an 02 plate Audi A3 today with some oem alloys off a brand new A3. They looked quite nice and as Lummox said they made a nice change from the usual choice.

He must have used similar adaptors as mentioned above, but wasn't around in the car park to ask.
