Some of the members have used the ebay cold air intakes with good results but the cone filter supplied is pretty cr*p and needs to be replaced with a better filter. Still a lot cheaper than buying a Carbonio or an ABD CAI kit though

Yeah there alright mate, i have one on my car. However the filter didn't fit the pipe work. It has a lip on the inside of the filter and it won't go on properly. I wouldn't you use the filter anyway as mentioned it is rubbish. I bought a jetex cone filter and its been great. Plus if your not happy with where the filter sits you can chop a bit off the pipe and just play around until your happy with it. I didn't fancy doing that with a £200 Carbonio :worried:

hi there, i got a cai carbonio, from awesome gti, it makes the right noises and i feel that it does pull slightly stronger and has given slight mpg improvements, the problem with fitting a "cone filter" under bonnet is heat soak, = slower. cheapest way to go would be a in box uprated filter like green cotton or k&n, i've heard that foam filters over time break down. hope this is of help.

if your after noise then go for the cai if you want to have a bit of power like 1 more bhp then change the pannel filter as fitting a cai has no power improvement over the original airbox just looks and sounds awesome :D;)

cheers for that rob,i was checking out your pics the other day,i had a long ram aem on my ctr and it made the world of difference, the car already has a forge dv on but can hardly hear it,i heard an induction kit make it that bit louder.

I have a BMC carbon fibre induction kit £200 fitted and worth every pennie :-D

I've got a BMC too- love it! Got it for £40 on Ebay for my Corrado VR6. Then it went on my 2.2 VTI Prelude, now it's on the vRS :)

Fitting is pretty simple too ;)
