Which Space Saver Wheel?

Featured Replies

Am now the proud owner of my new 59 plate Octavia Estate vRS Facelift....with no spare wheel....

Am currently looking on e-bay for a suitable space saver to chuck in the boot to replace the can of tyre weld:(. I am baffled by the different types of space saver out there. My car currently has the new look 18" Neptune Alloys on.

Anybody have any idea about which space saver I should be looking out for. What will fit?

From a good source - these are the options:

3.5J x 18, ET 25 with a danger signal above the permissible high speed (80 km/h, 50 mph)

6.5J x 15, ET 47

6.5J x 16, ET 50

I dont suppose you went for the full leather upgrade option? If so, whats your opinion on it, and is there any chance of a few pics??

Probably better speaking to the dealer about it.

If you order the spare with a new FLvRS, the dealer said that it would be a proper space saver (the one that looks like a bike tyre).

If I get my new car next week I will let you know.

Ive just taken the spare out of my Mk2 Vrs and replaced it with an 18" Zenith alloy. Its a steel wheel with a brand new Dunlop Sport 205/155R16 91V tyre, never been on the car. Dont know if it will fit yours. I live in the Nth East. If its any good to you get in touch.

The well in your boot should take a standard 16 steel or Alloy, possibly also a standard 17 steel of alloy - either a much better choice than a space saver.

Heats wheel should do you or look in the For Sale lists and see if anyone is selling a single Alloy or Steel - or join Freedom and put a wanted add in.

Make sure you buy a 5x112 wheel from a mk2 Octavia as Mk1s had 5x100 stud pattern
