Possible vrs turbo problem

Featured Replies

Hi

Got new vrs around 2 weeks ago (2.0 tsi with dsg).

During driving - while accelerating slowly - around 1900 rpm to 2400 rpm - I can hear strange sound something between low whistling and air inhaling. You can’t hear it above. You can't hear it while standing and pushing gas pedal.

I have been driving 1.8 tsi till now – and don’t remember that kind of sound.

Already been to service – they dot know what is it – just told me to drive and forget about it.

Looked through some forums found info about oil seals problems (for turbo) and some others but ... its new car ...

need some advice ...

I would say it is the turbo you can hear spooling up and coming on song. I can hear it all the time in the fabia especially loud since the decat :)

indeed, sounds like the turbo spooling. Mine does the same:thumbup:

no go...

had test drive in 1.8 tsi and asked later service man to test my car - no sound like that in 1.8tsi

additionally i think now its something closer to / between tearing paper and air choke

but the power delivery looks good

leaving car till Monday in service – they need to check engine and turbo looks like they need to take apart whole engine ….

eh….. did not expect problems with new car , made 966 km so far ….
