mid life crisis

Featured Replies

As part of my ongoing mid life crisis I need to trade my octavia 1.9 4x4 estate for a petrol vrs estate.:)

Drive the deal offer such a vehicle for around £16,400 but the official skoda price list quotes around £17500 for the same car.:(

I would prefer to do business with my local dealer if only to take advantage of their zero percent finance deal.

Any tips, hints or ideas as to how I can get the local dealer to come much nearer to the Drive the deal price?

Thanks,

pmc

print it out and take it in for them to see. dont be fobbed off about the usual "its an import" and stuff like that. You could also try a few dealers and see if theyll beet each other. I got mine for close to DTD price. I was happy to pay a little more as it was dealing with a local dealer plus i had a PX

I can see why there might be a small difference between dealer and broker prices and it would be good to use my local dealer for a part ex and zero finance deal - but for the quoted prices I could spec some nice options and still be way under the dealer price.

Guess I'll have to get my haggling head on and see how much the dealer will budge.

it depnds on if you hit them at the right time of month when they want more sales for bonuses. The list on my car with options was over 22k and i got it for £17,800 from a main dealer. Others have got better deals at the moment wiht the vat free offer on although this will run out after christmas.

There is plenty written on here about DTD in other threads, they just pass you on to an offical dealer who will be able to offer the 0% plus possibly the P/X, the only thing is it might not be local to you?

I used DTD prices as a bargaining tool to get a closer but not the same or better price. Remember the present offers require the car to be delivered by end of the year so with delivery times been around 12 weeks+ (?) you would have to order soon if it needs building?

Also look at autoebid, as the options list on DTD is not correct
