Hi all,

I need help. How do I remove the lock barrell on the drivers side door of my superb. I have the door strippped down to replace the lock but I cannot remove the barrell. When I looen the "lock set Scrrew" it has no effect in loosening the barrel. Help please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in Fabia MKI and Octavia MKI theres two screws whilst turning key in barrel and then barrel pulls out with key in it.

Dont know if Superb is the same tho.

Maybe a search in thoses area will help????

Are you replacing the barrel or the whole lock mechanism?

You don't need to remove the barrel to get the mechanism out. You do need to release the plastic ratchet slug from the outer door handle (the bit at the end of the outer release cable). Pull on the door handle and release it with a screwdriver.

To release the lock barrel...

There is a hidden 4mm spline bolt under a grommit in the side of the door. It's not just the metal part that comes out. The plastic surrounding it comes out too. Loosen the the spline bolt (don't undo it completely - it's a PITA to get back in). Pull on the outer door handle, then pull the lock and surround out

RWBaldwin, Thanks for the info did exactly what you said and out she ppped. I needed the barrel out as I was replacing the doorlock.
