Long story short.........

Featured Replies

.........so, I own a MY2006 Octy vRS estate, changed the 2 front tyres last month (direct replacement for the size on there) I have since realised they are not the right size - 225/ 45 R18, backs now need replacing, so I am going to change all 4 and try and sell the front ones on flebay!

The new boots will be Falken, question is, should I go for the ZE-912 or the the FK-452, difference in price is minimal, but I understand the 452's are more of a performance tyre! however reading some independent reviews they show the 912's to be a better buy......any help would be appreciated.

And, before anyone says go for a Potenza/ Pirelli etc etc, I can't afford it this time around, mainly because I have already got the wrong pair.

Thanks in advance, Lee.

Presuming you to be a typical vRS driver and thus move around the countryside in a suitably 'brisk' fashion you need the FK-452.

It is as you have read the 'sport/performance tyre'. The ZE-912 is more of a general/comfort/mileage tyre.

Question though; as you bought them before, why not stick with Khumos (in the correct size)?

To be honest, the wife drives it more, so its not, shall we say, really put through its paces that often. I would stick with the Kumho as I am very plesed with them, but its a matter of cost, I will save just over 50 quid going 4 the 452's, which makes a difference at the mo' but if you really think they are that much better, I may be able 2 rob the kids piggy bank!!:D

I don't know about Khumos as I've not used them; I was just curious. IMHO seems like you're on for a set of 452s (you won't go far wrong with these).

I think your right, I can get the FK 452 for just under £310 fitted for the set of 4. This is the biggest factor!

Thats not a bad price

I put two new FK452's on my just previous VRS, they were fine and better than the Continentals that were factory fitted.
