Engine vibration through clutch pedal

Featured Replies

After taking out a 2006 1.9Tdi today for a test drive I noticed that there were some quite severe vibrations coming through the clutch pedal when my foot was resting on it. Is this normal?

Also the brakes (although worked incredibly well) were a bit 'on/off' with not much inbetween!

Thanks

Were the vibrations more severe under acceleration or all the time? Potential flywheel problems make themselves known when accelerating in a high gear and subjected to peak torque.

Could be a problem, could be nothing.

Cant say much about the brakes. I have found them to be excellent on all three of my Octavias even under heavy load.

All the time. Even when idling, just resting the foot on the clutch pedal and I could really feel the vibrations.

I can feel constant vibration through my clutch pedal all the time. If the pedal shudders then that is bad news.

I had the same problem with vibration through the clutch pedal and the garage fitted a new DMF and clutch.

The Octy has the best brakes on any car I've owned.

Dual mass fly wheels are another seemingly common problem with the Octy, if you haven't already bought it I'd think twice, its an expensive fix. There is always another car to buy.
