Genius!! :D

Verdict is that I like the handling as long as stability is OFF, as it seems to act like an overzealous LSD and cause silly understeer, but I'm not actually that taken by the graphics. They're very smooth, but far too bright and clinical - it looks more like Ridge Racer than a serious sim. I'm also disappointed with the horribly cheap and plasticky looking interiors which are nothing like the prerelease shots, and the pointless damage model that allows you to hit a wall head-on at 120mph, flip and then just drive off with a few scratches. The weighty steering is very nice, but I couldn't detect any noticeable tyre wear.

Proper damage is on "Simulation", and I agree, need the aids off otherwise it tries to be too helpful and corrects my correction and makes me crash!

I had it on simulation mode and noticed that rolling the Ferrari didn't seem to make any difference. At the end of the lap I took it head-on into that last wall near the pit entrance and flipped it. All I got was a few scratches and no difference at all to the handling. I wonder if any of the other settings modify the damage, of if that was just a fluke?

first thing i did was put it straight on advanced difficult which turns of all but ABS and then knocked the braking line off for good mearure,

i find that virtual assits are nowhere near the real things and aimed at beginners and children - as shown with the addition of an auto brake assits (full throttle and just steer? no thanks!)

i think in fairness the roll over feature is just a tacky add on to satisfy those people who said "oh... you can't roll the cars....not very sim is it" about Forza 2

besides you've go to be doing something seriously SERIOUSLY wrong to manage to roll in normal racing! The time I rolled was with the porchse in exactly the same place as interphase with the same provokation and i got stuck upside down and had to "rewind" to before the corner

i'm happy with the demo but will reserve judgement until the full game arrives as from previous (Burnout Paradise) experience demo's aren't always 100% accurate

I just bought Dirt 2, and I'm loving it. Epic game. Better try this demo out though.....

I'm not really a huge fan of Forza. I have Forza 2 and thought it was OK, but the car setup rubbish bored and annoyed me, and the handling was harder than real life! I ended up wasting hours painting cars and fiddling with the suspension, only to realise PGR 4 is much more fun! So will be good to try the new offering.

Dirt 2 feels like my perfect balance between sim and arcade at the moment.

Add me if you can be arsed! Gamertag is BassyBodge

I like it, but I do feel aspects are rushed. The flip over thing for example. To self right, hold brake and the car rotates. The drift thing as well, essentailly the normal game and setup with a counter and not a timer.

Still like it though, although it does seem easier than FM2 - good demo all the same IMO

Worked it out - on the "free run" it, you won't get damage :)

Full damage on the actual race if you select "simulation" though.

I think the handling is what Forza 2 should have been. No more stupid breaking that locks up instantly, and its possible to get off the line with traction control off.

Graphics look pretty poo on the demo. It looked to me like my car was really well done, but the other cars were at a slightly lower resolution.

I'll be interested to see the full game, to see what they've done that will show this to be forza 3, rather than a minor upgrade of 2.

The handling seems "easier" than F2, and it's not what I wanted tbh, but it's alright :)

Better than GT5!

I picked up the official MS wheel yesterday and tried it with F2 and the F3 demo, and the steering feel in F3 is streets ahead. It has far more weight and subtlety, although it does go a bit light when the front wheels break traction. Hugely better than Dirt, which feels like you're driving on corrugated iron with no idea of what the tyres are doing,

Haven't bothered to hook up my wheel with the demo yet - might have to give it a go. Although feel i will be crying about not having a clutch! :)

But having browed the site for the guys who are making the "official" Forza Porsche wheel (FANATEC) and seeing the prices (:eek) i think i'll be ok
