Oh poo! No brake lights.

Featured Replies

You guys are gonna laugh at this! Yesterday, I cut off the old rotten rear arches on my dads M reg Forman E pickup, After cutting them off with a grinder, I noticed that I had actually cut through most of the loom, two thickish black wires, and a green wire, so I reconnected them all back how they were, I think i got the two black ones correct, as the angle of the cut was correct with the other half. As I hadnt disconnected the battery, when I put the new arches on, and tried it, there is no brake lights or fog lights. and I believe that there might be a perminent live in there somewhere, I checked all the 7.5 fuses, which seem ok, so i was wondering if I have burnt out anything else, or as we just got the old girl, they were not working before anyhow, and the brake switch neesds replaceing. And ideas, would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I would check the bulbs and the lighting relay (if there is one); you may have blown/fused them with the short circuit.

Panic over! The two wires from the pedal switch were off lol alls well now. Took it on its maiden voyage to Tescos petrol station before the 20 miles to its new home (my dads), found out that the clutch is slipping big time, when you put on the throttle and the clutch has very little travel in it. New clutch kit guys, or maybe the clutch needs adjusting? :-)
