Hi all,

I am new to Briskoda, after some advice from anyone with knowledge of electrical issues re Skoda Octavia Vrs.

I have had my Vrs 3 yrs now, never had any problems with it!! Last week the drivers door would not unlock with the remote and the red light that flashes stopped flashing! On further investigation I found that the electric mirror control only moves the nearside mirror on both the right and left hand setting!

I have checked the fuses and all seem ok, but was wondering if there were any ideas out there as to what may be wrong before I take it to a garage and end up paying a furtune to look at it!

Hi,Check elec window motor for any water damage to pins or wires.

The window motor has all the multi wires for the convenience system.

Sounds like the old "water damaged central convenience unit" problem.

You will need to take off the door card and investigate the connector pins at the elec window motor. I had similar symptoms, and both the loom and central convenience unit had to be replaced. If the corrosion on the pins isn't too bad, then you might be able to repair the pins. It is well covered on the Octavia 1 forum.
