These ones are the new one with thicker mesh, Its a pain to mould and bend but its much stronger than the one Ive got on the car at the mo.

Here is some of the car with the Ripspeed Halfords Mesh

Nice one Billy. I have 2 sheets of that mesh as bought for another job and never used. It is slightly smaller honeycomb to my bumper center mesh. So did you cut back all the plastic fins right up to the grill edges? How did you fix the mesh to the chrome trim and in the center where the skoda badge is.

basically you take an angle grinder to the slats and cut the top off in effect. then the mesh needs to be moulded and worked to give it a nice curve lol (like a nice womans ace)then you just crimp it round the lip and put lots of glue on. oh n youll also need to cut off all the clips on the silver surround and smooth it all off, similar principal to the bumper jus a bit more fiddly lol.

I got some from him too and its smaller than what it says on ebay

but I used it anyway, the one you used is jus like the milotec stuff and should be oable too but will take a tad more work.

the ripspeed stuff was pritty easy as its fairly plyable lol, but the new stuff I got is a bit stiffer so takes ages!

looks good Billy!

Very nice, how much? ;)

Funny you should mention that, as I thought it looked like a see through negligee when on the car.:o

Interesting alternative to the standard grille. Are you going to keep the chrome surround?

yea mate, on a black car it looks better i think as it breaks up the front end a bit, same with the bumper, ill be keepin my no plate there, might put the LCR plate on and cut either side? what do ppl think?

I've always been undecided about the colour coded grille on the black cars - but think I agree with you as otherwise it looks too black.

Hi

now I found your updated pics.

Picture 6 is what I wont.

This ones on first and second picture the pore shape is not so sharp and sporty like on pic 6 (they have 6 instead of 4 corners).

But mentioning the durability.

Is the old mesh to week and does it bend or what when you mentioning it???

If it works well in practice I'll go for this one but have to check with female part lol

ne probs mate, sorry forgot I started this thread. they can be put into one if a mod wants to.

billy

The mesh I have on is the ones thats on the car in the pics and it is still there after 18 month or so. The only thing I have had happen is a very large stone about the size of a 50p hit it and made a dent in it but I pushed it back out and you cant even notice were it hit. due to the way its moulded out it acts like the roof of the car and as long as you dont push on it heavy it is fine. I have had no probs with mine.
