HELP - Interior Damage

Featured Replies

1st time and never used similar site so be gentle with me and apologies if not correct.:o

Have an OCTAVIA DIESEL HATCHBACK 2.0 TDI PD Elegance 5dr with several extras ’07 plated coming up to 50K ( I have added 15K plus):D

Brought second hand (2nd owner), after my 10 year old Ford Focus diesel blew up on motorway (it only had 170K on the clock!), in Jan’09.

Love the car, performance, running costs, extras and price I paid, (several £K under what was for sale at time) but previous owner did not treat it with TLC.

Driver interior door trim is ‘damaged’ (told elbow pressure!) – skin has delaminated and foam is dented. Looks unsightly.

Anyone had this problem and found a fix?

Anyone scrap dealer breaking a crashed one and have a panel?

Replacement panel from Skoda is circa £200.:thumbdwn:

HELP

I saw exactly the same problem on a 2007 Elegance today. The trim is currently in the hands of a man who specialises in interior repairs.

If I remember I'll get some photos when we get it back.

Mine is the same and its an 07 with 107k on the clock. It looks horrible.

I'm thinking about obtaining a door card from a scrapper. I smashed a rear door speaker grille as well.

I have the same problem and my car is also out of warrenty. I have tried loads of scrap dealers and can never get hold of a door card looks like a very popular item! I tried a patch repair and although it is better its still not brilliant, i was wondering if one of those halfords kits would do the job?

Not sure about a DIY repair, the plastic surface has been stretched where the foam rubber underneath has been crushed. I'm sure there are specialists out there than can do a good job on it.

My car had this problem when i bought it, I did think about injecting some thin superglue under the spot and pressing the air out.

But i was worried about it being stretched and not sticking down correctly.

In the end I bought a VRS Interior for 350 notes with a good set of door cards in the end.
