My octy is now 11 years old and the front seat belts will not go back to their resting position and if i forget they get trapped in the doors, is it easy to replace the spring tensioners for the 2 front belts and more so is it expensive or better left to a garage to do.

Thought i could put up with it but they are doing my head in now.

Is there any tension left at all on the belt spring?

I thought mine was gone, but after a bit of patience, and a ****load of cheap furniture polish on the belt

it started working again fine

seems a few years worth of dust on the belt slows it down thru the mechanism, but the polish helps it all slide thru again
