Rear hubs

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have a Superb 1.9PD Classic 2004

My rear hub bearings are noisy so I will be replacing the hubs just shortly

Has anyone reading this done this job ?

And is there anything to watch out for ?

I don't expect any problems but any tips are welcome

Check the tyres ist mate, cheap tyres do this also.

Thanks for the reply, but it's not the tyres. Recently fitted a towbar and bought a caravan.

The hubs are making a noise since I started to tow and it's getting louder

So I'll replace them today before they fail completely

Well here's what happened, everything went fine, brake calipers off, removed brake discs.

The hub capscrews were rusted solid, I'll need heat to remove them.

Blowtorch heat is not enough for this job, so I put everything back on again as I need the car working.

Will attempt next week if I can get some oxy-acetylene
