'05 vRS fog-lamp replacement - bumper off?

Featured Replies

Searched the forum a couple of times but not found a definitive answer!

Need to replaced a smashed o/s fog-lamp on my '05 vRS. Pulled the surround off and it looks like I need to get behind the bumper to unscrew the unit.:thumbdwn:

Anyone know if you can do this without pulling the bumper?

Generally a bumper off job on the VRS although my mechanic managed to do it by removing the headlight.

Cheers for that. Had a further look and looks like it may be just one screw accessed from above and two clips, so headlight-out option may work!

Reluctant to pull the bumper off if it's not 100% necessary as I did that on my Audi S4 which was a HUGE pain to get back on AND re-align single handedly. :rolleyes:

Easy one-man job to get bumper off:

Remove four Torx screws from leading edge of front wheel arches;

Remove four Torx screws from underside of bumper;

Remove three trim clips from underside of bumper by pushing in central pin until it clicks, then removing entire clip;

Remove two Torx screws from top-middle of bumper (bonnet needs to be open);

Pull bumper away from wing on each side;

Remove entire bumper, disconnecting wires as needed.

Whole job should take less than 30 minutes...

Sweet. Thanks for that ap0gee. Just need to wait for my new fog to arrive from Jorily and I'll give it a go.:thumbup:
