I hate Dell with renewed passion

Featured Replies

Another problem Dells have and I think it's on all their towers is that they are all built backwards which means if say in a few years you wanted to stick in a new motherboard you can't.

Untrue,

Some models are ATX and have the fan and mobo etc at the back and others are BTX (a newer standard)

BTX seems to have not got very far, but was designed to get rid of more heat by having the CPU right at the front of the system.

get a mac-mini, mine is ultra quiet and the desk space it takes up is roughly the same area as a cd case

Just had a look into Mac Mini's on Mac mini - Apple Store (U.K.).

A Mac Mini with 4GB RAM (the max you can get in one), 2.26 Core 2 Duo (the highest you can get in one), 320GB HDD (the largest you can buy it with), a 24" monitor (my Dell one is 23" and same resolution but no doubt not as good a picture) would cost...

£1,546.01!!!!!! (£911.02 without the monitor)

That's nearly 2.5x as much as my Dell cost and mine has a quad 2.5, 6GB RAM and double the HDD capacity.

Ahh, but some may argue that the OS is 2.5x better ;)

And that Apple ownership gives them an enormous sense of well-being :D

Nail on the head :P

Even if they do lose all your data :

- By owning a time capsule over 18 months old

- By using the guest account after upgrading your OS

... feel free to continue

Let's not turn this into a hate thread :P
