Nice pics, especially the bridges! What camera and lenses did you use? What settings did you use aswell?

Nikon D40 with 18-55 kit lens. Settings: ISO 200, shutter speeds from 4-30 seconds and aperture from f6 to f22.

Most of them were roughly f11 - f16 & 10 - 13 seconds :)

Lovely photos!

Just a few thoughts I had (trying night photography myself recently) and that is are you using a filter? I find that light sources can get a bit 'flarey' when a filter is on the lens. I have been trying the kit lens and also some older manual lenses and for points of light I find the older lenses with straight aperture blades very good - the lights are very crisp with a clean 'star'.

If you look here http://gallery.photo.net/photo/8707038-lg.jpg you can see what I got with an old lens at f/16.

Yea, I used a filter (CPL) on some of the first ones. I then thought exactly what you said, and the lights were a bit 'flarey' so removed it.

I realy do need a better lens than the lit 18-55.

Very nice indeed! Love the one with the reflected bridge, and the car light trails

Love the shots Love the shots of my home townemoticon-0148-yes.gif. I did one that I mucked about with. It’s not as pure or as sharp as your long exposures, but it is a little bit different.

I alway find it hard shooting from the Millenium bridge as it moves/bounces as people wale on it.

It does make the bridge a little more fun though :)

What kinda tripod were you using?
