Whinning noise

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I'm hoping someone can help. My Octavia (II) has developed a strange whinning noise which is extremely annoying.

I'll try and explain this as best I can. You know when you open the driver door after unlocking the car for the first time, there is that momentary buzzing sound (which I assume is the central locking). Well in the past weak I have noticed that this sound has become more high pitched.

Then when I start the car there is this whining sound we is present continuously, regards of speed, movement, etc. When inside it sounds like is could be come from the rear of the car but I may be wrong.

Does anyone know what this is? It's driving me mad, but I'm reluctant to bring the car in as I can't afford the predictable hefty bill for them to sort it out.

Thanks,

Mully

This is the fuel pump, in the tank under the rear seats.

Likely it is going to finish...
