Some questions about future Mods/Upgrades

Featured Replies

Hi ,

Well as some of you may know i've had my Vrs remapped by midlands VW with custom code software.

I'm now thinking about doing the following :

Uprated engine mounts - Would these be a worth while mod?

Dogbone mount - Seen afew people on here put uprated bushes in them , how does fitting the uprated one affect the drive on the car and what difference has it made?

I've also been on the seatcupra.net site and i was reading up on there, that alot of the members bypass the n249 valve. What are the benifits of doing this and what difference would it make to the drive of the car?

engine mounts and dogbone mount will just stop the movement in the engine when giving it beans no power increase:P worth doing imo

as for the bypass why change something that is meant to be on there?? it can be done but i think they map it out once removed ( maybe wrong) dont think there is any real benifit.

suspension is where i would go next or a lsd ( cost a bit )

its a never ending road and we only get disapointed at the end lol

There's an end?

The N249 system can prevent overboosting which sounds like a good thing to me.

If I was you I'd look at suspension mods first before going for more power. Rear ARB makes a big difference and front braces stiffen up the front nicely.

Always, always, always, fit a RARB to the vRS. The only suspension mod I've ever done that has a huge upside (much better cornering) and no downsides in ride or handling at all.

The dogbone mount mod Is a really good one especially bang for buck. It stops wheel hop when you accelerate & you will also notice better power delivery to the wheels:thumbup:

the only downside you will feel abit more vibration, but It soon settles down.
