Recommend me a 4" coaxial

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a pair of 4" coaxials to run off a Becker Cascade head unit. They need to have a maximum depth of 60mm and cost around £100 although I'll spend more if there is good reason for it.

I'm currently considering the Rainbow SL 100 Installer or Focal Polyglass 100 CVX so opinions on these and any other recommendations would be appreciated.

Just to add a little more info:

These will be mounted in the dash of the boxster and run off the front channels, I will later add 6.5" bass/midbass drivers into the doors run off the rear channels.

I was going to recommend the Rainbows myself :)

I have some Crystal Audio something or others in the garage that were destined for the BMW. They certainly had rave reviews and came from the Talk Audio classifieds in the original box etc.

If your interested I can dig out some more info. I think I paid £60 for them and they are definitely surplus to requirements now.

I'm leaning towards the rainbows too as I've read that the focal's can be a bit bright, also the Rainbows aren't as deep which will help with installation.

Feel free to get me some more info on the ones you have and I'll have a look.
