DPF regen - freaks out parking sensors?

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Noticed on a couple of occasions when the car happens to put itself into DPF regen, if I start reversing the parking sensors beep like crazy every now and again. Like a wall has suddenly appeared several inches from my back bumper and then disappears again.

I'm wondering if this is due to extra heat or other emissions from the tail pipes when on regen? It's the only coincidence I can think of.

Anyone else noticed this?

Chris.

no

Sincerely never, nor ever heard of before...

Ok, ta for the responses guys. Was just a thought as there was nothing behind me and normally the sensors are spot on. The car just happened to be on regen both times so it's all I could attribute it to.

Could it possibly could be a conflict across the canbus system and the various modules linked to one another?

I've had my windscreen wipers randomly stop working, the indicators flashing 3 times one way then going on a continous flash in the other direction to the stalk whilst a electric window switch was disconnected.

I've had the indicator issue occur with a accidental bump start when i magaged to momentarily stall it in 2nd gear and the weight of the car re-start it again.

In my opinion, canbus is a great idea to a extent but can be a little tempromental at times!

Hmm...could be. As I say it only happens on regen (which is rare) - at all other times it's fine.

Ghosts in the machine......... :)

Its not called Christine is it!?

I've had enough of ghosts being mentioned at work yesterday, given some peculiar things have gone on in one particular room! (Items moving on there own with the odd shadow)
