What's behind the glovebox???

Featured Replies

Had a fulls service yesterday and noticed the glove box not fitting as well as it had, and the carpet below it left lose. I will refit the glovebox and tidy up the carpet myself (not a big issue), but i am curious as to why the glovebox was remoeved in the first place.:confused:

Anyone know what's behind it that needs attention during the big service??

Narnia.

Or the ECU.

One of those.

There is only the fan for the heater and a load of wiring AFAIK.

I suppose the garage could have had brain fade and gone looking for the pollen filter as it is located there on some other cars.

ECU is under the windscreen lol

Theres your air con stuff and some wires, no talking lions or queens trying too feed you turkish delight or owt I'm afraid

You access the passenger airbag from there....

Or maybe they dropped something down the blower intake after removing the pollen filter, and dropped the blower motor off to get it out. Could have been something as simple as a few leaves dropped down.

If the car has any kind of aftermarket electrics, one of the best routes to get an extra supply into the car is via a grommet behind the glove box.

FYI, I do also have narnia behind my glovebox. It's on the vRS options list..

Unfortunately I bought mine second hand. I've had cruise control retro-fitted. I also wanted heated seats & Narnia but they are both massively expensive as a retro-fit. :thumbdwn:

To the O/P, as others have said, I would imagine it was something to do with the pollen filter. Either forgetting where it was, having problems getting the screen trim off or dropping something into the heater. Presume it was not a Skoda dealer or specialist doing the work

That's the problem, it was, and a reputable one at that.

Thanks for the prompt replies.

I just had a major service and I reckon they installed a really clever rattle device designed to annoy the hell out of me in the hope I'll go back and pay 'em a load of money to remove it out of warranty.

Or maybe there's some wires.
