Additional Features on Trip Computer - Displayed On Climatronic Screen?

Featured Replies

Some years ago, a mate with a Corrado showed me how to access more information on the MFD and it was displayed on the climatronic screen (I think). I seem to recall it was accessed by pressing the MFD function buttons and turning the ignition on? Anyone know if you can do it on a VRS and if so, how (and of course, how to get back to "normal" display).. I

The climatronuc can display speed (in kmph) as it needs to know this in order to do all its clever sums (that allow it to keep you at your favourite temprature).

Since it muts be wired into the ECU to do this, I guess it might be able to display other info as well.

Interesting but I think that is on the can-bus climatronic system which (I believe) offers a lot more channels than we have on our olde worlde cars. For example, I prety sure my climatrinc only offers the speed in kmph.

Cheers,

I can't remember which buttons you press exactly, I think it's both temperature buttons and fan speed up, but that opens all the channels on the climatronic, but mine has never seemed to give me any useful information, not even the speed :(

Tried this today and found I had 60 "channels" that can be read.

A quick search on google found a mass of additional threads on different forums and some videos on metacafe and youtube.

Should be a great help to anyone who suspects a stuck flap valve or faulty flap actuator/motor.

Now if only I could get a decent translation from German for all 60 displays!

From the above attachment:

1. Press Fan Down, Temperature Colder, ECON at the same time.

2. Use the temperature control buttons to cycle through the various channels to Channel 16.

3. Press ECON to go back to normal. (It goes back automatically when you restart the car.)

Channels:

1 Interior temperature (sensor)

3 Sunlight sensor

7 Coolant temperature sensor

9 Blower speed (adjustable)

10 Measured blower speed (sensor)

11 Defog valve (adj. 0-255)

12 Dashboard ventilation valve (adj. 0-255)

13 Recirculation valve (adj. 0-255)

14 Lower ventilation valve (adj. 0-255)

16 Speed (sensor)

I only have 9 channels :(
