new passat and superb not talking..

Featured Replies

I have hex-can usb, and recently after a software update (908) - the cable seems to have been flashed and updated too.

So anyway - i can see engine and auto gearbox, but not cluster or anything else..

I thought this cable was dual K line compatible.. so what should i be checking first pls ??

many thanks for any ideas..

From whom did you buy your VCDS system and what exactly does the sticker/label on the interface say?

Ebay bought per chance?

nope this one wasn't off ebay, though i did have a std chinese usb one before just for reading codes, - but i bought a proper one to get full functionality :-)

on the label -

HEX-CAN Dual K/CAN inteligent USB interface.

OFICIÁLNÍ STÁNKY VAG-COM 907.9 Autodiagnostika VAG - diagnostika

bought from the offical dealer in czech - ( i needed the czech language too )

it up to now had performed fine, but i don't think i'd tried any dual K cars.

Like i said the cable looked like it was flashed on the last vcds - i'll plug into a car and read the numbers/cable software later on this morning..

i will be contacting the dealer too, but i expect they will be slow to react to enquiries... they are czech :-)

908.1 vcds,

1.81 cable type,

showing K1 ok and K2 ok,

but it won't let me get into instruments or bits...

Please go to VCDS > Options and make a screenshot of the current settings please.

CAN not ready was the problem - dual k lines were showing OK,

otherwise settings as already written above. have been in touch directly with Uwe, looks like my cable has a defective CAN section so isn't communicating as it should.

will be sending my cable back for replacement/repair - is still under warranty.

1yr + 1/2 old but covered for 2yrs :-)

i will report back when i have a new cable !
